I would definitely recommend this gate. We love the idea of opening it both directions and also can remove it for the weekend when my grandson is not here. At first, the latch was a bit hard to get open with one hand, but it just takes getting used to. We have it extended to it's maximum width and it is still sturdy enough. Great gate for the price!

Extra good for the space we need to block off. The gate is able to be extended to slightly different widths at the top and the bottom and this allows for the trim around the kitchen floor (but not on the walls).
