We have had these for a year now and they are fantastic. Easy to install, but easy for adults to unlatch in case of an emergency. Since our window casings are white, they blend right in. As an added precaution, my husband also installed small wooden blocks to prevent the sash from being lowered more than a couple of inches.

These are a must for second story windows. Our upstairs windows are all very low and our 16 month old grandson could climb everything before he could walk.
