This item worked great. Before we installed the lock, you could not deter our 15 month old twins from playing with the door and in the fireplace. After installation they are not even interested. Great item.

Our little one can definitely no longer open the fireplace doors with this product. While it did not completely immobilize the doors, they cannot be opened, but they do fold open a little. I think this is the best you can do for accordion doors.
